Everything Will Be OK

About

A documentation of Mina Karimi's thesis project at the Parson's School of Design.
Mina:
Do you want a beer?
Me:
I just brushed my teeth.
Mina:
So?
Me:
Beer tastes bad after you brush your teeth.
Mina:
Oh. I'm a fan of dental hygiene, but I'm not a big participant.

Event #1: Project Bueller

Mina and artist Kara Suhey planned to recreate the parade scene from Ferris Bueller. A hurricane ruined their plans on the day of the Deitch Art Parade (9/6/08), but does this mean the Universe has bigger and better things ahead for Project Bueller? We think: Yes.

No, I owe YOU an explanation

Before we start following the intricate and artsy mind of Ms. Karimi, let’s explain why it’s worth spending time to do so.

First, and foremost I suppose, I agree with her basic principles. As will be shown, she strongly believes that the individual experience can influence the collective experience. By trying to influence many individual experiences, she hopes that the collective will indeed change, and change for the better.

I’ve often heard the mantra that if you do what you love first, the money will come later and this is one time that I really hope that it does. Not because she’s so hard up for money, but I’d like to see someone get paid for such a venture - a venture that helps us all.

So here you will find access to Mina’s archives and projects. Enjoy them as you remember that “Everything Will Be Okay.”
